We believe fashion has the power to open doors. By creating designs that turn heads, we can start conversations, and from there, spark curiosity. When someone wears a Statement Species piece, it doesn’t just look good, it invites questions, stories, and connection. Our goal is to reach beyond the usual conservation crowd and bring new people into the fold through beauty, wonder, and style. Fashion is our way in; education, conservation, and impact are what follow.

For that reason, our collections are rooted in fashion, first. We're not making novelty tees, overly literal illustrations, or gear that only speaks to scientists. Our pieces are designed to be stylish first, inspired by real-life species second, so fashion lovers and science buffs alike feel drawn in. We’re not your typical gift shop merch. We’re statement fashion with a wild twist.

Our designs are based on real species, studied through thoughtful research, not AI prompts. While we don’t replicate exact proportions or scale (we’re not printing field guides 🤓), we aim to keep the essence accurate and the species recognizable. We balance creativity with respect for nature’s true forms.

Pattern as Language
We often use repeating surface pattern design, so our garments are literally wrapped in nature from seam to seam. These aren’t one-off graphics or taglines plopped on a tee. They’re intentional, artfully crafted prints, the kind you might see in a fashion magazine someday (we hope)!
